Welcome to the Wonderblog – we hope you are loving our new website! 2016 was a wild ride here at Wonderland HQ, and 2017 is set to be even bigger! So, it’s probably a great time to tell you a little more about the business and the person behind the screen, Creative Director and Founder, Jenna.
Hello lovely people! My name is Jenna and I am the Creative Director of Wonderland Invites. Manchester born and bred, I now live in Leigh on Sea, Essex with my partner Richard and our little girl, Darla.
Interestingly, I’m not from your typical creative background. I studied Media & TV Production at the University of Huddersfield and began my career working at ITV in advertising sales. Following a belated gap year at the age of 25, I worked in advertising sales and marketing for a specialist media owner in London. I founded Wonderland Invites back in 2014; I love weddings and I love to create pretty things, so when a couple of friends asked me to create some personalised items for their weddings, I sort of found an interest to explore. At the time, it acted as a creative outlet and provided me with the opportunity to learn new skills. However, as time went on, it became clear that it was something that I really wanted to do full time.

Fast forward to January 2016; Richard and I welcomed Darla into the world and our lives changed completely. Suddenly, I found myself with plenty of free time to crack on with turning my hobby into a business. Fortunately, Darla loves a good nap so I totally went against the mummy mantra of ‘sleep when the baby sleeps’! I used the time to work, work, work!
Where we sell our products
Wonderland Invites began its life with a shop on Etsy, which quickly became the perfect testing ground for new products and has been completely invaluable for gaining those all important client testimonials. We are proud of our 5 stars rating on Etsy, and certainly aim to keep it that way! Following a rejection in 2015 (Shhh, it still smarts), I was finally accepted as a seller on Notonthehighstreet.com back in August 2016, which opened a whole new revenue stream.
Now, better late than never, we have launched the Wonderland Invites website, we are completely optimistic that this will provide another way customers can shop with us…offering choice is something we are passionate about, which is why we offer both our collections and a custom service.
What’s in the pipeline?
Well, how long is a piece of string?!
We are constantly innovating; trying out new formats and investigating new materials to print on. We will soon be offering more choice by way of coloured envelopes, so check back on that soon! And we are currently in the process of officially launching print on coasters; a fantastic idea for save the dates or wedding favours – contact us for more information in the meantime.
Later in the year, we will be launching our consultation service. We know that it is often really difficult to locate the perfect wedding venue or find the photographer who best suits your style. You may even need help booking appointments with bands and other entertainers. Each supplier is uniquely different, and matching them with your own needs can sometimes be difficult; not to mention, sticking within budget. Our upcoming consultation service will help you make informed decisions on the suppliers you are booking for your wedding, based on considered research prepared by our dedicated team.
