Supplier Recommendation: Emma Spowage

I am lucky for so many reasons when it comes to my work...but one of the main things which blows my mind when I think about my job is the amount of amazingly talented people I have met along the way.

In an industry where love is everything, it is quite easy to become detached from romantic notions in effort to just crack on with the job at hand. However there is a special breed of suppliers who are so entirely passionate about what they do that they are always willing to go the extra mile for their couples and their craft.

I am fortunate to be surrounded by quite a few such suppliers, and their passion is a massive driver in how I conduct myself and my business. But out of all the people I have met over the years...one woman stands out from the rest...

Emma, of Passion flowers by Emma Spowage.

Pampas and greenery based wild flower arrangement

This Essex-based powerhouse of floral and fauna is an absolute machine. Not only does she grow most of the flowers and foliage she uses in her arrangements but she has an unbeatable eye for design.

I have been lucky enough to get to know Emma over the past year or so, where she has flowered four of my styled shoots, each with such care, attention and enthusiasm. I was also over the moon to be asked to work with her on her new branding, which allowed me even more of an insight into her life, her background in floristry and her motivations/work ethic.

Seasonality is a huge player in Emma's arrangements and she takes great care in educating her clients on what is and isn't available at certain points of the year. Even with the briefs I have given her for styled shoots, she's blown me away in creating something which isn't a typical colour or texture for the time of year we were shooting in.

Working from her home studio and gardens, Emma loves to work with couples who have an interest or love for seasonal, British flowers. Aside from being super professional, Emma is also just really down to earth, kind and compassionate, with a lovely way about her and how she conducts herself and her business. If you are getting married in Essex and the surrounding areas, I would wholeheartedly recommend you get in touch!
