Real Wedding: Dawn & Ian

My favourite briefs to work on revolve around a feeling...a buzz I get when a couple contact me and talk me through their wedding. When Dawn & Ian got in touch asking whether I could help them with their big day last October, I jumped straight in at the chance to work on their Autumnal inspired wedding. Dawn had so many wonderful ideas, and knew exactly what she wanted when it came to her invites - her palette was decidedly warm, with glowing autumn vibes and I was all for it. It's not a colour palette I get to work with very often but I was SO excited to create some designs for Dawn and Ian to see. We settled...

Real Wedding: Danielle & James

I am so incredibly lucky when it comes to my couples. With the style of stationery I create, they are always super laidback, love a good ol' knees up and of course, have an affinity for beautifully designed paper. Being so integral to a couples big day is something I don't ever take lightly...sure, stationery is a small component, but quite often, it generates further ideas for styling and couples do garner a lot of inspiration from the creation of their invites.  This was the case for the lovely Danielle and her new husband, James... "Your invite design became the inspiration for all the florals from the bouquets to the arch we created.  I just wanted to say thank you for...

Wedding invitation wording...how to?!

One of the things my couples ask me time and time again is how to word their invites. There really are no hard and fast rules this day in age; it's all a matter of preference to be honest...and also, how traditional your wedding, or your family, are. There are some points you may wish to consider, and these all really boil down to whether you or your families are hosting/paying for the wedding itself. Traditionally, either one set or both parents would host, but it is more commonplace these days for the couple to host.  If the brides parents are hosting the wedding, it is commonplace to leave off the brides surname and include the grooms full name: Mr....

Real Wedding: Jodie & Gus

Since the weather has taken a turn for the chilly, here's a gorgeous December wedding from last year. Jodie & Gus were one of the loveliest couples to work with, and I adored their love story... Living in the UK with their lovely little boy, Jodie & Gus's younger years were worlds apart...literally. Whilst Jodie's family hailed from the south of England, Gus grew up in Brazil. But their love for one another is tangible even over email. The couple were married at Byfield Church in Daventry, with their reception following at Crockwell Farm...surrounded by their loved ones and close friends. Jodie had such beautiful ideas for her stationery, and so we worked together on her Save the Dates, Invites and On...

That time Rebecca Carpenter shot my work...

You may have seen recently that I had some of my work shot by the amazing talent that is Rebecca Carpenter. I will pre-warn you; this is a blog largely singing her praises..but there is of course, some stunningly pretty stationery sandwiched in between.  I first 'met' Rebecca when she photographed this amazing shoot in collaboration with my other lovely friends Kayleigh Keen and Valentina Ring. I was blown away by how she captured the story, and was equally blown away with how much time she spent shooting my work for this particular project. Fast forward over a year, and we're regulars in each others inboxes, talking all things Drag Race, Disney and work. This is Rebecca - she's a real life princess....
